HAPPY BIRTHDAY BREE!!!

Hey all!
Here's my recording! Sorry it's been awhile since my last one. Hope all is well!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BREE! 13 years old! I'm amazed at how fast time has gone. Hope you have a great time.

Love you all.

QUESTIONS
1)How does it feel to have clothes that don’t have holes?
* It feels like I'm a new missionary all over again. Kinda weird to think about,

2) Did you ever get your Halloween package?
* Elder Lawrence traveled to Managua today to get a package of his own. He called me and told me that there were two packages waiting for me in the misión office, but that he only had room to take one of them back to Leon. I'm pretty sure he grabbed the Halloween one.

4) Did you ever go back to visit the lady with the issues on family?
* Nah. She was an investigator that we stopped visiting.

5) Did you ever go visit the Catholic cathedral? I’d sure love to see pictures!
* I did! Pictures will be sent.

6) We are trying to figure out where to go on a family trip when you come home. What are your thoughts?
* Not sure on that. Will need to think about it.

Got Mah Stuff!

Hey all!

No recording this week; sorry!
But! Lots of goings-on!
Today I had to travel to Managua with Elder Reese to renew my cédula (residency/citizenship card). So, got the lovely opportunity to stand up for two hours in a bus full of people traveling south to the capital.
Everything went off without a hitch. Got my cedula renewed and had the aweome opportunity to retrieve my extra luggage. These are the bags I haven't seen in a year or so.

Speaking of which, it appears the email that Dad sent to President Collado did the trick. I was able to organize the bag pick-up quite smoothly, as compared to previous failed attempts/requests.

Said hi to Elders Baldwin, Le Sueur, and Perkes as well (CCM groupies). They also came to renew their residency cards. These cards have an expiration date of exactly one year after the day they're issued, so this was the last time I had to renew it. Apparently in mission-speak that's like big news. Following this milestone will be the "second Christmas" (in the mish), second Mother's Day, and so on and so forth. I'm kinda starting to count the time down a bit.

Elder Reese says the official day count is "511 days in the mish as of today," or something like that. I gotta stay focused so I can finish strong.

As for the "guitar" business, I'll need to practice again before I record anything. It's been over a year since I last played a guitar.

I hope all is well at home. I love you all.

Dad, my prayers are with you as you cope with your good friend's passing. I know one day you will be able to speak face-to-face with him once more.

Bree, HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!! I'll get to tell you again next week, but I wanted to put an early smile on your face. Hope you are enjoying your time with family.

Mom, stay strong. Thanks so much for all your constant advice and care. I love you.

Alex, go on some dates and think of me when you do! (haha) I'll get home soon and then you and I can go on a double date with whoever you've got planned. I'm proud of you sis.

November-ific

Hey all!

Here's my recording. Hope you like it!

Love, Zach

Questions

 1) Have you eaten any more burgers? Eaten any more wacky stuff besides turtle?
*A few. They're like a little taste of home. Nothing else pretty wacky besides Cow Stomach (three days ago)... gross...
2)  Have you had access to a guitar?

*I have! My lunch appointment had a guitar that was given to them by another missionary some time ago, even though they don't play. I think I'll go ahead and start practicing on it.
3) How’s the clothing situation? Did you get your bag yet??? (Still can’t believe that they haven’t let you since you’ve moved.)
*NO. I'm beginning to think I might never get my bag until the end of my misison. Clothes are doing alright.
4) Why aren’t you sending photos?
*I've been trying to find a Ciber that recognizes the USB-connection of my camera. No luck thus far; a few sucky ones might be possible.
5) Is the temperature much different than Puerto?
*It's actually a bit drier and cooler than Puerto, though most of the other misisonaries here say this is the hottest área they've served in.

Happy Halloween!

Hey all!
Well, I thought my internet troubles were over when I left Puerto, but apparently I was wrong!
Here in León the internet winks out every few weeks, leading to some pretty sucky connections.
This is one of those days.
I'm sorry I can't answer everything right now; my window's pretty sketchy at best today. I'm told next week will be better. Here's a couple recordings of my week. Hope you enjoy!

Love,
Zach

Part 2!

And to answer, No, I did NOT get my package OR my luggage. That really blows. Apparently there was a "rule" against leaving the stake center during the meeting with Elder Snow. So, no luck there, and I have no idea when I might be able to get my stuff.

Fun, fun.
